Jennifer (Madden) Marszewski excelled in two sports (Volleyball/Softball) during one of the most successful eras in women’s sports at Benedictine.
Madden was a starter on the volleyball court for three teams that made appearances in the NCAA Tournament from 1991-93 while winning four conference championships.Â
On the diamond, Madden still ranks as one of the most prolific hitters in program history. Madden was selected three times as both All-American and All-Region and was a key part of three teams that made NCAA appearances. She previously held the program’s all-time record for homers with 32, which was just broken in 2023. Madden drew 33 walks in 1994, a single season program mark, and also posted two of the top single-season homerun totals along with one of the highest averages in single-season history at .402.Â
Madden was coached by Benedictine Hall of Famer Deb DiMatteo in both volleyball and softball and was previously inducted as a member of the 1993 softball team. The 1993 team finished 34-5, won the regional and finished third in the country. She was a teammate of current softball coach, Hall of Famer Kate (Enochs) Heidkamp.Â
